Cool Roof Tiles

Heat-resistant, weather-proof roofing tiles that reduce indoor temperatures and protect your building for decades.

Roofing Solution

Igloo Cool
Roof Tiles

"Stay Cool. Save Energy. Build Smart."

Igloo Cool Roof Tiles are specially engineered with a heat-reflective surface coating that bounces back solar infrared radiation. Ideal for Tamil Nadu's hot climate, these tiles significantly reduce roof surface temperatures, cutting indoor heat load and lowering air-conditioning costs. Made from high-grade cement and graded aggregates, each tile offers excellent compressive strength, low water absorption, and long-term durability under UV exposure, wind, and heavy rains.

Reduces roof surface temperature by up to 20°C
Lowers indoor temperature by up to 5°C
Water absorption ≤ 5% — fully weatherproof
Compressive strength ≥ 35 MPa (BIS IS 654)
UV-resistant surface coating — 25+ year life
Eco-friendly — reduces urban heat island effect

Why Igloo?

PropertyWhat It MeansAdvantage
Superior Solar ReflectanceReflects solar heat away from the roof better than other tilesSave money in electricity bills (10–30% of average daily summertime loads) — less air conditioning, less need for fans
Superior EmissivityCools quickly by emitting the little heat it absorbsRoof stays cool with less expansion and shrinkage, giving long-term durability
Low Surface TemperatureKeeps the roof cooler to walk on than other tilesActivities on the roof will be cooler on the feet even during peak summers
Thermal Comfort
Reflective coating bounces back up to 80% of solar infrared energy, reducing heat gain significantly compared to conventional tiles.
Energy Savings
Lower roof temperatures mean less heat transfer into buildings, cutting AC energy consumption by 10–20% in residential buildings.
Waterproofing
Dense, low-porosity surface prevents water seepage even under heavy monsoon rain — tested to IS 654 standards.
Eco-Friendly
GRIHA and Green Building compliant. Reduces urban heat island effect and lowers overall carbon footprint of buildings.
High Strength
Minimum 35 MPa compressive strength ensures tiles withstand foot traffic, maintenance loads, and cyclonic wind pressures.
25+ Year Life
UV-stabilised surface maintains reflectivity over decades. No recoating needed under normal Tamil Nadu weather conditions.

Installation Guidelines

  1. Ensure the roof slab surface is clean, level, and free from dust and loose material.
  2. Apply a 12mm mortar bed (1:4 cement–sand mix) on the slab surface.
  3. Press tiles firmly into the mortar bed with a slight back-and-forth twisting motion.
  4. Maintain 5mm joints between tiles, filled with white cement slurry for water-tightness.
  5. Cure the installation daily with water for a minimum of 7 days.
  6. Avoid foot traffic for 48 hours after laying and full load for 7 days.

Maintenance Tips

  • Clean tiles annually with a mild detergent and water jet to maintain solar reflectance.
  • Inspect joints every 3–5 years and re-grout if hairline cracks appear.
  • Avoid applying bituminous paint or dark coatings — this nullifies heat-reflective properties.
  • Do not place heavy mechanical equipment directly on tiles without load distribution plates.
💡 Pro Tip: For maximum thermal benefit, install a 50mm air gap between the slab and tile bed using PCC blocks.
